About BoxingWiki

The Story Behind BoxingWiki

BoxingWiki started with a simple frustration. As a tech nerd who fell in love with fitness and eventually boxing, I kept running into the same problem: my coach would explain a concept in the gym, and I would understand it in the moment, but by the time I got home, the details had faded. I would search online and find scattered YouTube clips, contradictory Reddit threads, and paywalled courses. Never a single, well-organized reference that treated boxing knowledge the way a developer treats documentation.

I wanted a repository. Not a course with a sales funnel. Not a social media highlight reel. A structured, searchable, free database of boxing techniques where every punch, every defensive movement, every footwork pattern is broken down with clear steps, common mistakes, coaching cues, and conditioning drills. The kind of reference I wished existed when I was learning.

So I built it.

Our Mission

Boxing has always been taught through oral tradition, passed gym to gym, coach to student. That system works beautifully inside a gym, but it leaves millions of people without access to quality instruction. We believe that foundational boxing knowledge should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.

BoxingWiki is designed to be the world's best-organized boxing database. Every technique page includes step-by-step breakdowns, pro tips from experienced coaches, the specific muscles involved, common mistakes to avoid, conditioning drills to build the physical attributes you need, and connections to related techniques so you can see how everything fits together.

We are not trying to replace your coach. We are trying to be the reference you pull up after class to review what you learned, or before class to come prepared.

What Makes BoxingWiki Different

  • Interactive Muscle Map:Click any muscle group on our anatomical model to see its role in boxing and the techniques that depend on it. Understanding the “why” behind each movement makes the technique stick.
  • 98+ Technique Library: Every technique includes step-by-step instructions, pro tips, common mistakes, coaching cues, and conditioning drills. Not just a paragraph and a video.
  • AI Shadowbox Trainer: Our camera-based punch tracker uses pose estimation to count your jabs, crosses, and hooks in real time during shadow boxing sessions.
  • Stance-Aware Instructions: Toggle between orthodox and southpaw and every technique description updates to match your stance.
  • No Paywalls on Fundamentals: The core technique library will always be free. We support the site through non-intrusive advertising and optional premium features.

Our Editorial Process

Every technique page on BoxingWiki is written and reviewed with input from experienced boxing coaches. We cross-reference multiple coaching sources to ensure accuracy, and we update content regularly as we receive feedback from the community. Our goal is accuracy over quantity. We would rather have 98 thoroughly researched technique pages than 500 thin ones.

If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or want to contribute, reach out through our contact page. We take every piece of feedback seriously.

Built With ❤️ and Code

BoxingWiki is an independent project built by a small team that loves both technology and boxing. We are constantly improving the platform: adding new techniques, refining the training tools, and building features that make learning boxing more accessible and effective.
