Heavy Bag Power Hooks
Why This Matters for Boxing
Single hooks at 100% power with a full reset between each. This is how you calibrate your hook — every rep is at max force, so you learn what peak power feels like and can reproduce it under pressure.
How To Do It
- 1Stand in your fighting stance in front of the heavy bag.
- 2Throw one single lead hook at maximum power.
- 3Reset fully — guard up, feet planted, hips squared.
- 4Breathe. Then throw the next hook.
- 5Alternate lead and rear hooks across sets.

Pro Tips
- The bag should swing noticeably on every rep — if it doesn't, you're pushing, not snapping.
- Turn your lead foot and hip into the hook.
- Don't wind up — power comes from rotation, not from loading back.
