Goblet Squats
Why This Matters for Boxing
Builds the leg drive that powers uppercuts from the ground up. Every uppercut starts with a knee bend and explosive upward drive — the same movement pattern as a goblet squat. Strong legs = uppercuts that lift opponents off their feet.
How To Do It
- 1Hold a dumbbell or kettlebell at chest height, close to your body.
- 2Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly out.
- 3Squat down until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
- 4Drive up through your heels explosively.
- 5Keep your chest up and core tight throughout.

Pro Tips
- Keep elbows inside your knees at the bottom.
- Drive up fast — like you're throwing an uppercut from the ground.
- This also builds the leg endurance for staying low in the pocket.
