Mirror Drill (Shadow)
Why This Matters for Boxing
Lateral movement with jabs, never crossing feet. This teaches the fundamental boxing footwork rule: always move lead foot first when going forward or to the lead side, always move rear foot first when going backward or to the rear side.
How To Do It
- 1Stand in your fighting stance.
- 2Move laterally — left and right — throwing jabs.
- 3Never cross your feet. Step-slide only.
- 4Maintain your stance width throughout.
- 5Add defensive head movement between steps.

Pro Tips
- Do this in front of an actual mirror if possible.
- Your feet should never be closer than shoulder-width apart.
- The jab is just to keep your hands active — focus on the feet.
