Beginner Ankle Stability

Single-Leg Calf Raises

Step or Ledge
🥊

Why This Matters for Boxing

Pivot-foot stability. When you pivot, all your weight shifts to your lead foot's ball — your calf is the muscle that keeps you balanced and allows the rotation. Weak calves = sloppy pivots.

How To Do It

  1. 1Stand on one foot on a step or ledge.
  2. 2Let your heel hang off the edge.
  3. 3Rise up on your toes as high as possible.
  4. 4Lower slowly below the step level for a full stretch.
  5. 5Complete all reps, then switch feet.
