Oblique Crunches (Lying)
Why This Matters for Boxing
Builds the crunch motion used for inside slips. When you slip inside a jab, your oblique contracts laterally — this exercise strengthens that exact movement pattern.
How To Do It
- 1Lie on your back with knees bent.
- 2Place one hand behind your head.
- 3Crunch diagonally, bringing your elbow toward the opposite knee.
- 4Squeeze your oblique at the top.
- 5Lower slowly and repeat.

Pro Tips
- Don't pull on your neck — let your core do the work.
- Touch your elbow to the opposite knee if you can.
- Slow and controlled — no momentum.
