Slip Rope U-Motion

Rope or String
🥊

Why This Matters for Boxing

Continuous bobbing under a rope in a U-shaped pattern. Unlike straight slips, the U-motion dips under and comes up on the other side — the classic Tyson bob-and-weave that makes you nearly impossible to hit.

How To Do It

  1. 1Tie a rope at chin height.
  2. 2Stand to one side of the rope.
  3. 3Dip under by bending your knees and moving in a U-shape.
  4. 4Come up on the other side.
  5. 5Immediately go back under in the opposite direction.

Pro Tips

  • The motion is U-shaped, not V-shaped — smooth, not jerky.
  • Come up with a hook or uppercut for boxing specificity.
  • Keep your eyes looking forward, not down.
